Title of project: Wonders of  St. Giles Cathedral(Edinburgh)


Supervisor: Dr. John Lee

Outline of project idea:

We are interested in St. Giles Catheral, thus we wish to develop a project and introduce the cathedral to people with digital techniques such as 3D modeling and animation. The purpose of the project is to provide everyone to understand the history, the architecture, the meaning of the building through digital distribution. This project will also combine several digital techniques that we learnt from this course such as image processing, video editing, and documentary.

Aims:

1. Introduce and know the history of St. Giles Cathedral through digital means

2. Research and understand its purpose

3. Evaluate the style and design of the target building

4. Status and figures meanings for the locals

Resources required:

Live inspection at the site of the building, camcorders to capture videos

Outcome expected:

Obtain detail comprehensive introduction of a specific style of the building including 3D models, photos, and videos.

Roles:

Jessie and Kevin will both be involved in all parts of the project including image capturing, video editing, animation, and 3D modeling as well as on site field trip.
